Birchwood Resort is located on Kabetogama Lake in Voyageurs
National Park, just 20 miles southeast of International Falls, Minnesota.
Born of an ancient
glacier
flow
and edged by the great Canadian Shield, Kabetogama is surrounded by
a wilderness that is untamed by time. Here you'll find nature in her
most splendid state, teeming with plant species such as aspen, white
pine and spruce, and animal species such as black bear, deer, moose
and wolf - to name but a few. The lake itself is dotted with
over 200 remote and scenic islands that maintain their beauty
through harsh winter storms, and produce rich foliage and wild
berries in summer.

Situated along the
United States - Canadian border in Minnesota, Kabetogama Lake has 131 miles of
scenic shoreline, 25,000 acres of clean, cool water, and is one of four
major lakes that make up Voyageurs National Park. Established in
1975, Minnesota's only national park commemorates a key stretch of
waterway canoed by 18th-century French-Canadian Voyageurs who
transported furs along the international border lakes.
Kabetogama offers an
incredible variety of outdoor activities for every season.
Fishing, camping, canoeing, kayaking, hiking and water sports are
just some of the Spring, Summer and Fall activities. The Winter
offers snowmobiling, skiing, snowshoeing and ice fishing.
Experience for yourself the incredible beauty and serenity of
Kabetogama Lake. |
